The Sindh Human Rights Commission held an Orientation Session on Understanding Pakistan’s International Commitments W.R.T. GSP+, National Action Plan, National Counter- Extremism Guidelines, Sindh Sound Systems (Regulation) Act, 2015, Sindh Charities Registration and Regulation Act 2019, Sindh Protection of Communal Properties of Minorities Act, 2013, Sindh Witness Protection Act, 2013 and Provincial Level CVE Policies and Laws from Human Rights Perspective for the Police officials and other Government stakeholders on 11th February 2022 @ District Shaheed Benazirabad.
Alone in Sindh Province, we have seen a great increase in the cases of violent extremism in form of temple attacks, forced conversions, attack on minority properties, mob violence etc.
This orientation session is part of a series that will be held in District Hyderabad on February 12th, and the Commission already hosted an orientation session for the benefit of Government personnel in District Mirpurkhas on February 10th, 2022.
Mr. Mohsin Abbas Syed (Trainer/Legal Expert) gave presentations. Brainstorming sessions, discussions, and state policies for GSP+ compliance were all discussed.
In the end closing remarks were given and certificates were distributed among the participants.
