Sindh Human Rights Commission inaugurated its “Regional Office” in Sukkur at Women Development Complex, near SRSO complex, Main Shikarpur road Sukkur.
With the expanding scope of Human Rights discourse and consequently increased reported of HR violation cases, the Commission decided to open its regional office in sukkur so that people living in upper Sindh do not have to travel all the way to Karachi for their complaints. It is a known fact that Sukkur Zone is quite volatile region when it comes to Human Rights violation.
Ms. Majida Razvi, Chairperson SHRC along with her team inaugurated the office of “Sukkur” She said while welcoming to the audience that in order to effectively respond to the H.R Violation issues in Sukkur zone, the Commission has opened its range office in Sukkur.
Ms. Kulsoom Chandio, Member SHRC/MPA-PPP; Ms. Pushpa Kumari, Member SHRC; spoke on the significance of the Sukkur office.
Program was moderated by Mr. Zulifqar Shah, Member SHRC/Joint Director PILER and Ms. Abida Lodhi gave the vote of thanks.
Other participants were Mr. Akhtar Hussain Chandio, SP Complain Cell, Larkana; Ms. Rukhsana Mangi, Incharge,WCPC, Sukkur Region; Mr. Pervaiz Abro, Aisha Darejo, and Ms. Farzana Khoso SHRC Committee members; representatives of Sindh High Court; Advocates; Lawyers; Officials of Women Development Department and Social Welfare Department; NGO’s representatives and Media Personnel.
SHRC staff included Mr. Adnan Khaskhaly and Mr. Sarfaraz Jamali Superintendent Complaint & Enquires and Mr. Asim Kareem, Superintendent Admin were also in the inauguration ceremony.
