Mr. Muhammad Aslam Sheikh, Judicial Member II / Legal and Co-ordination, Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), Govt. of Sindh Karachi, attended a “Legislative Dialogue” on International Day of older persons organized by DAR-UL-SUKUN on 30 September 2019 at Dar-ul-Sukun Centre of Older Persons Karachi. Meeting was attended by representative of the empowerment of persons with disabilities, Director Social Welfare and Civil Society representatives. The chief guest of the meeting was Justice (R) Ashraf Jehan. It was highlighted in the meeting that senior citizens Act 2014, was enacted but it is not implemented hence efforts be taken to enforce it. This act is very beneficial for the elderly people and there is need of it.
