Today, the Tenth TIC Meeting on the List of Issues, adopted by the UN Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights regarding Pakistan's Second Periodic Report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), was held at the TIC office.
The meeting Chair by Ms. Tahseen Fatima, Secretary of the Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, and co-chaired by Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, the meeting was a platform for robust discussions and insightful exchanges.
During the session, Mr. Detho shared briefing paper titled "Pakistan's GSP+ Obligations: Navigating Human & Labour Rights Compliance in Sindh," published by SHRC. This comprehensive paper sheds light on crucial human and labor rights compliance issues within the region, providing valuable insights for all stakeholders, govt officials.
Furthermore, Barrister Rida Tahir, legal advisor at SHRC, presented the SHRC report on ICESCR, offering invaluable perspectives for advancing socio-economic rights in Pakistan.
